This free seminar will cover many aspects of pain across the life-stages of women from adolescence, perinatal and menopause with a focus on women's health conditions such as endometriosis.

MEET THE PANELISTS

Dr. Marjorie O'Neill MP
Member for Coogee

Dr. Marjorie O'Neill, MP for Coogee, is a passionate advocate for women's health, education, and social justice.

Before entering politics, Marjorie O'Neill had a distinguished academic career, teaching and researching in Australia, the UK, and the US. She is deeply committed to the transformative power of education and has dedicated her research to understanding the social and economic factors that shape women's career paths.

Now, as a Member of Parliament, Marjorie champions initiatives that promote women's health, education, and empowerment, tirelessly advocating for her constituents and ensuring women's health remains a top priority on the political agenda.

Dr. Jason Chow
Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, and Pain Medicine Specialist.
MBBS, BSc(Med), FRANZCOG, FFPMANZCA

Dr. Jason Chow is a uniquely qualified specialist, holding dual registrations as both an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist (O&G) and a Pain Medicine Physician. One of a select few in Australia with this dual expertise, he works in both The Royal Hospital for Women and private sector, delivering obstetric and gynaecological care, as well as a specialised pain medicine service for women with chronic pelvic pain.

Dr. Chow made history as the first gynaecologist to complete the pain medicine examination with the Faculty of Pain Medicine (FFPMANZCA) in Australia. A recipient of the prestigious Robert Wrigley research scholarship, he also trains and mentors future O&Gs as a RANZCOG training supervisor and educator.

Dr. Amy-Lee Sesel
Psychologist, Royal Hospital for Women

Dr. Amy-Lee Sesel is an experienced Clinical Psychologist at the Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick. She specialises in women's mental health, providing evidence-based therapy and support for a range of concerns, including fertility and infertility, perinatal mental health, gynaecological cancer, menopause, endometriosis, and pelvic pain.

Dr. Sesel's expertise in psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment enables her to deliver personalised care, empowering women to manage their mental wellbeing and improve their quality of life.

Eimear McHugh
BSc Nursing, HDip Midwifery (RN, RM- non-practicing)

With a passion for women's health, Eimear has dedicated herself to the Royal Hospital for Women since 2015, with extensive experience in obstetric and gynaecological conditions. She made history as the hospital's first Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) for Chronic Pain in November 2022.

Eimear's tireless efforts to raise Endometriosis awareness have been complemented by her postgraduate studies in Endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain. Her contributions were recognised with the Royal Recognition award in 2021. Armed with a BSc in Nursing and HDip in Midwifery, Eimear delivers exceptional holistic nursing care, significantly enhancing patients' experience.

Kimia Sharifi Nasab
Senior Physiotherapist, Royal Hospital for Women 

Kimia Sharifi Nasab has been working as a Senior Physiotherapist at The Royal Hospital for Women since 2022. She is a Titled Continence & Women's Health Physiotherapist as awarded by the Australian College of Physiotherapists. Kimia's clinical experience stretches across the urogynaecology, menopause, chronic pain, men's health and maternal spaces.

Kimia is a member of The Royal Hospital for Women Clinical Council and Australian Physiotherapy Association NSW Women's, Men's & Pelvic Health Committee. Kimia is passionate about clinical education and improving patient pathways within the public health space
